Spams are one of the greatest disturbance on the internet. Be it in the form of email, network messages, IRC, forums or blogs, they can be deadly too, leading to viruses, pond?ography, privacy disclosement and other threats.

Recently, it was noted by almost many internet users that there have been spamming on major community sites. Examples such as IMEEM, deviantART and Friendster, are fighting against these kind of spams lately. You can just simply receive messages/notes from another user on the same network saying that you won something or they have something interesting for you. These are simply already a form of spam.

Many of the web application developers are taking this into serious consideration and are all upgrading their current anti-spam system. Honeypots, CAPTCHA, and other anti-spam methods are good in stopping spams on sites. However, they might cause inconvinences to the users. The first step to stop spams, is to stop spammers from joining your site.

Many members of the social networks, are standing against the spams. Groups have been formed to stand against spammers. Some of which spams back the company emails as a form of protest. Such groups, for example at http://rahll.deviantart.com/journal/15412899/, can be found on many social networks.

RE: Spams are killing the Internet!
Not just spams. now adays, on MSN, many bots was sending virus without the owner knowing. there's one case when my friend tried to send me a virus. then she said, she did not say or send anything. This virus is quite deadly too.

I hate thoes spam like for example, you entered a site and the spams open in another window and this happen only when i uses Internet Explorer.
