RE: Javascript Frameworks
A framework is a set of javascript that simplifies javascript and handles alot of the cross browser compatibility. something like jQuery or extjs or PrototypeJS

RE: Javascript Frameworks
You can learn javascript and the objects available in webdevelopment from W3Schools http://www.w3schools.com/.

It's a cool site and i have learnt quite alot from there, though the content is sparse compared to other more concentrated sites. but i made it my primary javascript reference because it is easy to browse.

It also has a reference for PHP but i prefer the official PHP manual as the official one has user contributed notes which i can refer to if i have a problem.
